LOGIN SALESFORCE

As organizations that rely on Salesforce for customer relationship management, the task of securely logging in should be a top priority. Whether your organization is a small business or enterprise-level, Salesforce provides an array of benefits when securely managing operational data as well as customer data securely. While this secure data management benefits both customer and company, the risk of unauthorized third-party access still exists. To decrease this risk, steps need to taken for a secure solution to authenticate users and protect data.

Salesforce release management, data backup and recovery, and security solutions provide an efficient method to protect from system threats and data vulnerabilities. Systems and services such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), and user identity and access monitoring can be an effective combination of security layers. When implemented properly, businesses can rely on Salesforce for maximum data protection.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Put simply, MFA requires two or more independent sets of credentials to authenticate and authorize a user. This second factor can be a pin number or biometric security, but is usually a text message code or authentication app running on a smartphone. After a user has correctly provided both credentials, the system can then authorize their access.

MFA acts as a safe wall by ensuring that only the authorized user is granted access. To increase security, MFA should be configured to time out after each login. This requires the user to re-authenticate after a specific time-frame. For places such as a public computer, it is even more important to set a short timeout, in order to prevent unsecured access of your data.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On is an authentication process that makes it easier for users to log into your Salesforce accounts. Providing one login for the entire session eliminates the need for users to enter credentials multiple times. This is especially helpful for mobile users that are using Apps. An SSO will offer added benefits of fewer errors, faster logins, and an overall better user experience.

When setting up the SSO, it is important to create a secure, yet comfortable protocol. To ensure security, you should set up two-factor authentication such as MFA. Other protocols like password complexity and inactive user timeout should be enabled to provide an extra layer of security.

User Identity & Access Monitoring

User identity and access monitoring is a vital layer of security. Have you ever had dubious accounts come out of nowhere? They often appear as unauthorized users. Identity and access monitoring solutions can quickly detect these accounts and block their attempts at making unauthorized transactions.

Identity and access management systems can also restrict access to certain areas of sensitive data. By authenticating each user in real time and quickly detecting unauthorized access attempts, you can better protect your data. Additionally, you can alert the IT staff in case of attempted malicious activities or inactive accounts.

Planning for Maximum Data Protection

Salesforce’s role in data protection is invaluable. In a secure environment, it reduces the risk of unauthorized access and helps you know where your data is stored. To increase data protection, a three-layer solution of MFA, SSO and user identity & access monitoring can be very beneficial. Securing your Salesforce account not only helps protect your data but also upper hand from malicious activities.

By implementing a secure system with additional protocols, you can create an effective method for protecting your data. Planning for cyber security will not only help your organization, but also keep your customers’ data protected. Make sure to remember you can always rely on Salesforce for maximum data protection.
