SALESFORCE FIND ORG ID

An organizational ID (Org ID) is a unique identifier for each entity that signs up for Salesforce. It designates that entity's specific environment with a globally identifiable tag. An organizational ID can be used for the management of Salesforce release, data backup and recovery, and security solutions.

For an enterprise customer with Salesforce solutions in place, your Salesforce staff may need to ascertain theOrg ID of your company. There are a few ways to find this information.

Within the Salesforce Platform

For customers using the Salesforce platform, the Org ID will be visible under the account settings. In the Lightning Experience, select the Setup tab and click Account Settings in the App Setup tab located in the left-hand panel. Then open the Enterprise Info tab and you'll find your Org ID beneath the Organization Name.

In Classic, the process is similar: select Setup and then, in the App Setup bar, select Company Profile. When you open the Company Profile tab, you'll find the Org ID beneath the Organization Name.

From the Salesforce Database

Another way to find your Org ID is by querying your Salesforce database. It's possible to use Salesforce's own query language (SOQL) to conduct searches of all your existing records. To find the Org ID, use a query such as the following:

SELECT Id, OrganizationId

FROM Account

Run this query in SOQL Query Editor to make sure it's correct and the output is as expected.

Using Third-Party Solutions

Finally, if you use a third-party Salesforce release management, data backup and recovery, or security solution, the demographic information uploaded to the vendor's platform may include the Org ID of your company's Salesforce environment. Check with the vendor to verify this and to see what the process is to find the Org ID.

Finding your organizational ID is a useful step towards employing salesforce release management, data backup and recovery, and security solutions. It's important to know the Org ID for an enterprise customer using Salesforce so your Salesforce staff can better target their efforts to customize your Salesforce architecture. If you haven't yet found the Org ID of your Salesforce environment, consider using these methods to uncover it.
