SALESFORCE API LIST

For enterprises running on Salesforce, leveraging the full power of Salesforce APIs can be an effective way to improve system performance while reducing operational costs. APIs make it easier to customize processes to meet specific business requirements, providing more streamlined and efficient solutions at the same time. From simple integrations to enhanced overall system capacities, Salesforce APIs play an increasingly important role in businesses’ success.

Salesforce APIs enable businesses to build user-friendly interfaces into their existing system, expanding their fidelity to other external systems and users. APIs are used to connect different cloud and non-cloud services together, including web services, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and more. In doing so, enterprises can quickly and easily expand their customer and partner engagement capabilities, providing better customer service and enriching customer experience.

APIs are broken down into two major types: REST-based APIs and SOAP-based APIs. Most customers use REST-based APIs for accessing Salesforce data, as they are simpler to process and use, while SOAP-based APIs are better for complex operations and can handle multiple operations at once. Both offer tremendous value to enterprise users and are popularly used within Salesforce.

Salesforce’s REST APIs, collectively known as the "Force.com REST API," provide a powerful suite of tools to query and manipulate data from within Salesforce. This data can then be used to build web services, interface with external systems, or simply query existing Salesforce data for analysis or reporting. Force.com REST API allows businesses to expose their Salesforce data in a platform-agnostic way, which is particularly useful for integration with external applications.

In addition to the Force.com REST APIs, Salesforce provides several additional APIs that focus on specialized tasks or other projects. Bulk API simplifies asynchronous operations into easy-to-use operations for large datasets. Streaming API, formerly known as "Bayeux API" is a bidirectional streaming API designed for applications that require real-time updates. This API allows applications to receive and send data over HTTP. Chatter API, meanwhile, is a resource that allows customers to easily integrate with their existing Chatter functionality and leverage user data both in and out of Salesforce.

For business’s more specialized development needs, Salesforce offers several additional APIs including Apex API for writing custom Apex classes, and Tooling API for programmatically accessing a customer’s Salesforce configuration data. Finally, Salesforce’s Outbound API gives customers the ability to execute custom Apex classes, and execute SOQL queries from outside of the Salesforce application.

Using Salesforce APIs can offer a wide range of benefits for businesses, such as enhanced customer and partner engagement capabilities, leveraging thereof customers’ earlier investments in Salesforce development and integrations, increased system efficiency as a whole, better control over partner engagement, as well as improved user experience.

Salesforce APIs offer immense flexibility and customization capabilities to businesses, allowing them to maximize the value of their Salesforce applications and increase process efficiencies across the board. Customized options and increased system integration from Salesforce can be achieved by leveraging different types of Salesforce APIs to quickly and securely access data from outside of the Salesforce application. By unlocking the power of Salesforce APIs, enterprise users can benefit from all that Salesforce has to offer.
