SALESFORCE WHERE IS MY DATA STORED

Salesforce is a popular cloud-based enterprise software that provides solutions for release management, data backup and recovery, and security, among other services. Enterprise clients and their users benefit from Salesforce’s high availability, scalability, and flexibility, and all the while, Salesforce’s encryption algorithm keeps your data secure from exterior threats. Although Salesforce is highly secure, it’s vital to understand the principles behind the security to make sure your data is protected in the way you expect it to be.

One of the most important aspects of the cloud-based Salesforce system is where your data is stored. While Salesforce prides itself on the security of the system, individual clients may have a variety of requirements or preferences when it comes to where their information is kept. So, the question is: Where does Salesforce store my data?

Salesforce works with several vendors and partners to make sure that all enterprise customer data remains secure. By default, Salesforce stores your data in its state-of-the-art data centers located throughout the world. The exact locations of these data centers are highly secure and confidential; however, Salesforce makes sure to balance performance and compliance with your exact needs. This way, you know your data is always safe and available, regardless of where in the world you’re located.

In addition to the data centers located in various international locations, Salesforce also offers the ability to store data within an enterprise’s own data center, via private cloud. This offers companies the unique ability to keep their most sensitive information on-site and thus, maintain complete control over the information. In this case, Salesforce provides a deployment package that is deployed within the customer’s own infrastructure and is then managed by Salesforce.

For most companies, storing data within a Salesforce data center will suffice, as the level of security and availability is already satisfactory in most cases. But for a select few, keeping their own data within their own data center is the only way to make sure their need for security and privacy are met. Either way, Salesforce provides the flexibility to store data where customers want or need it to be.
